OHARA Events – Brand Identity Design

Brand Identity for a Boutique Irish Wedding and Events Studio

OHARA Events is a boutique wedding and events studio founded by Ciara O’hara, creating bespoke celebrations across Ireland, from weddings and private occasions to corporate and high-net-worth events. “The Art of Exquisite Events” is the promise, and the identity needed to live up to it: high-end and considered, personal rather than showy, and international in feel, with a quiet sense of where the company is rooted.

An ownable mark, with a nod to home

The brandmark combines the O from the logotype with a Celtic knotwork pattern, creating a symbol that is unique to OHARA and entirely ownable. Events in Ireland, and the local knowledge that comes with them, were a key message in the brief, and something we wanted to acknowledge in a tasteful way. Woven into the letterform rather than placed alongside it, the knotwork reads as a refined detail first and a heritage reference second.

Within the logotype the effect is beautifully subtle, the pattern revealing itself on closer inspection. For moments where the detail deserves the spotlight, an upright version positions the brandmark above the logotype, standing alone, where the craftsmanship really shines. Both versions were provided as part of the logo suite.

One brand, two audiences

The key challenge was a dual audience. OHARA plans weddings and private celebrations, but also corporate events, and a single identity had to feel right for both: romantic enough for a couple planning one of the most important days of their lives, yet composed enough for a brand dinner or client event.

Rather than diluting the brand to suit everyone, the identity is versatile. For weddings, Celtic knot flourishes frame each corner of a fine keyline border, with a flowing script accent adding a sense of romance and occasion. A subtle background pattern, a tone-on-tone woven lattice, echoes the interlacing of the brandmark. It adds texture and depth without ever competing with the content, quietly carrying the brand’s character into layouts.

For corporate audiences, a cleaner and more restrained expression lets the logotype, palette and generous negative space do the work.

Not the obvious palette

The colour palette is not the most obvious direction. Irish greens were considered, including a route pairing deep emerald with gold, but with Celtic detailing already present in the brandmark, we didn’t want every element to shout Ireland. That would have tipped the balance from heritage into theme.

Instead, the palette draws on the atmosphere of the landscape rather than its most familiar colour. Sea Mist and Limestone are soft, cool and luminous, evoking Atlantic coastline and weathered stone, while Warm Taupe brings a natural, tactile warmth. Deep Slate grounds the brand with depth and quiet authority, and is particularly at home in corporate settings. Muted Copper and Burnished Copper bring the warmth, chosen deliberately in place of the more expected gold, and recall candlelight, wax seals and foiled detailing. Together they feel contemporary and international, while still carrying a quiet sense of place.

The identity in use

The mockups show the identity across the moments that matter: a deckle-edged invitation suite, place settings with an embroidered napkin, a copper wax seal, welcome signage, a branded candle, and the brand set over venue photography, from marquees to abbey ruins. The branding also carried beautifully into the website, which you can view here.

In Ciara’s words

Ciara was kind enough to leave a review once the project was complete:

“I was looking for a very specific type of designer who understood the high end market and I came across Jason… He went above and beyond in all aspects… I now have a fabulous logo, brand and website.”
