ROC Invest: Website Design for a Prime Off-Market Property Specialist
Following the creation of the new brand identity, I was commissioned to design and develop the new website for ROC Invest, experts in sourcing off-market property for HNW clients, family offices and overseas investors across London and the UK.
Designing for an audience that scans
High net worth audiences read websites differently. They scan first, form a judgement on credibility within seconds, and only then decide whether to look deeper. Very little of that first judgement is made on the words.
The site is built around that behaviour. Strong background visuals set the tone immediately, spanning the range of the business from landmark London property through to characterful residential, which does particular work for overseas investors by signalling the calibre of access on offer. Generous negative space gives every element room to breathe, because at this level restraint reads as confidence, while density reads as a volume agency chasing enquiries.
Services and track record are presented in a measured, considered way rather than crowded into feature grids and statistics. The intention throughout is reassurance before persuasion.
Carrying the brand across
The identity flows directly into the site. The navy palette grounds the pages, champagne appears sparingly as an accent rather than a wash, and the typographic system picks up the contrast established in the logo lockup, with a high-contrast serif for display and a quiet, widely tracked treatment for smaller labels that echoes the INVEST detail in the mark.
This is an approach I always recommend. A website built on considered, resolved branding is invariably superior to one where the visual identity has not yet been set. When the palette, typography and tone are already decided, every layout decision has something firm to answer to, and the result feels like one coherent thing rather than a set of pages assembled and then decorated. One stage leads smoothly into the next, and the client ends up with a site that will still look right in five years.
Built on Squarespace
The site is built on Squarespace, which gives ROC a platform they can maintain comfortably without a developer on call, while still allowing the level of design control the brand demands. The build is fully responsive, and the same discipline of space and pacing carries down to mobile, where a lot of this audience will first encounter the brand.
The result
A website that does what the brand promises: distinct, credible, and confident enough not to shout. Fitting for a firm whose entire proposition is discretion and access.
